About Us
Since 2019 One Health Partners has been transforming the way we imagine, narrate, integrate and evaluate animal assisted interventions and human-animal support services in health, education and social care ecosystems across the life-span.
One Health Partners is a not for profit community health and social service organization based at the centre for social innovation in toronto, canada.
We are not an animal welfare organization although animal welfare is an integral value and commitment in our work. In many ways One Health Partners is a new species of organization operating at the intersection of animal welfare, human healthcare, education and social services. The idea of One Health originated in the veterinary community but has been adopted by the world health organization, the CDC and many other leading public health and policy makers as both an analytical framework and as a more holistic, interdisciplinary, multi-sectoral collaborative approach to disease prevention and health promotion. At its core the idea of One Health reflects recognition of the integral relationship and interdependence of human health and well-being, animal health and welfare and the health of our built, social and natural environments.
Organizational Structure
One Health Partners has two primary divisions: a community service division led by our flagship animal assisted therapy program, Paws to Care and an innovation lab for research and developing pilot projects.

Promoting understanding and appreciation of the human-animal bond and leveraging that for social good. Our animal assisted therapy programs and services are the clearest instantiation of this commitment.
Developing and disseminating One Health as an idea, as an interprofessional integrated model of health care and as a social movement
Building bridges between the arts, humanities and social sciences on the one hand and the biomedical and life-sciences on the other hand and within the biomedical and life-sciences better linking the human, animal and environmental research and professional communities.
Our vision is for a world that cares for the interconnected health and well-being of people, animals and our planet.
